Second Day of the Prime Minister’s Visit to the Republic of Chile
On July 31 (local time), during his visit to the Republic of Chile, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the Japan-Chile Trade and Investment Forum. Following that, the Prime Minister visited a Japanese garden on Santa Lucia Hill, and then attended a wreath laying ceremony in Citizenship Square.

Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia. Afterwards, Prime Minister Abe moved to Perth, where he received a courtesy call from the Hon. Colin Barnett MLA , Premier of Western Australia. Following this, the Prime Minister attended the signing ceremony of the document for the establishment of the Japan-Australia Academic Exchange Fund. In the evening Prime Minister Abe attended a welcome banquet jointly hosted by Prime Minister Abbott and Premier Barnett.

On July 8 (local time), during his visit to Canberra, Australia, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe first visited the Australian War Memorial where he laid a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended a welcome ceremony at the Parliament of Australia during which he conversed with the leaders of the Senate and the House of Representatives and delivered an address to both chambers of Parliament.
