Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the 14th meeting of the Headquarters for Japan's Economic Revitalization at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, discussion took place on the early implementation of the Japan Revitalization Strategy (Revised in 2014).

Based on the discussion in the meeting, the Prime Minister said,

“The Abe Cabinet will continue to make Economic Revitalization its top priority. We must implement the Japan Revitalization Strategy that was revised last month with a sense of urgency.
I would like the relevant ministers to immediately start designing specific systems for the policies we have promised to the people in the recent Growth Strategy, and to swiftly implement them.
In particular, I would like you to prepare bills related to building up local regions and women’s active role, for submission at the extraordinary session of the Diet this autumn.
Additionally, in designing specific systems, I would like all ministers to exercise leadership to fully ensure that the content of the reforms does not become ‘watered down,’ so to speak.
There is no end to the Abe administration’s reforms. I would like to ask Minister Amari to move forward with preparations for studying the further evolution of the Growth Strategy.”
