Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held the 14th meeting of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy in 2014 at the Prime Minister's Office.
During the meeting, discussion took place on the budget overview, the FY2015 guidelines for budget requests, and future initiatives of the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy.
Based on the discussions, the Prime Minister said,
“Today, the Council on Economic and Fiscal Policy has compiled the FY2015 budget overview, and obtained approval for the guidelines for budget requests that are based on that concept.
I would like to thank Minister Amari, Minister Aso, and all the other members of this Council for their efforts.
Based on these guidelines for budget requests the Government as a whole will work to compile a focused FY2015 budget that achieves both economic revitalization and fiscal soundness.
I would like to ask for your ongoing cooperation.
Additionally, Minister Amari is compiling future themes for this Council to address. Based on this policy, this Council will deepen discussion in the latter half of this year.”
