Subsequently, the Prime Minister attended and delivered an address at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council and exchanged views with the permanent representatives of 28 NATO member states, which was followed by a joint press conference. Afterwards, the Prime Minister had an audience with His Majesty King Philippe, King of the Belgians.
The Prime Minister Visits France
On May 5 (local time), during his visit to the French Republic, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe first attended a welcome ceremony at the Hôtel National des Invalides, and then inspected cannons brought to France in the 19th century from Choshu, a domain in western Japan. Afterwards, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic, and held a joint press conference.

On May 2 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited the Portuguese Republic. First, the Prime Minister visited the Champalimaud Centre for the Unknown, followed by a courtesy call on H.E. Prof. Aníbal António Cavaco Silva, President of the Portuguese Republic.

On May 1 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited the United Kingdom. First Prime Minister Abe had an audience with HRH Anne, the Princess Royal of the United Kingdom, at Buckingham Palace. He then participated in the Invest in Japan seminar. Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior at Westminster Abbey where he offered flowers.
