The Prime Minister Visits France

On May 5 (local time), during his visit to the French Republic, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe first attended a welcome ceremony at the Hôtel National des Invalides, and then inspected cannons brought to France in the 19th century from Choshu, a domain in western Japan. Afterwards, the Prime Minister held talks with H.E. Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic, and held a joint press conference.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister first attended a reception promoting Japanese cuisine, before laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the Arc de Triomphe, and then visiting a day-care center at the Hôtel de Ville in Paris. Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended a banquet hosted by H.E. Mr. François Hollande, President of the French Republic.
On the following day, May 6 (local time), the Prime Minister first gave a keynote address at the OECD Ministerial Council Meeting, before holding talks with H.E. Ms. Alenka Bratušek, Prime Minister of the Republic of Slovenia.
