The Prime Ministers of Japan and India Visit Kyoto
On August 30, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe welcomed H.E. Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, at the Kyoto State Guest House. After walking around the Japanese gardens, both leaders attended the signing ceremony of a statement of intent to link the cities of Kyoto and Varanasi in India as partner cities. Afterwards Prime Minister Abe hosted an informal dinner banquet.

The Prime Minister then visited the Japanese Pavilion and planted a commemorative tree. Following this, Prime Minister Abe held a press conference.
