Second Day of the Prime Minister’s Visit to Brazil

On August 2 (local time), during his visit to the Federative Republic of Brazil, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe went to Ibirapuera Park in Sao Paolo, where he offered prayers and flowers at the Mausoleum of Pioneers of Japanese Immigration. The Prime Minister then visited the Japanese Pavilion and planted a commemorative tree. Following this, Prime Minister Abe held a press conference.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister attended a Japan-Brazil symposium on regulations in the medical care sector, and then held talks with the Hon. Mr. Geraldo Alckmin, Governor of the State of Sao Paolo . Later, he delivered a speech at the Japan-Brazil Business Forum (Latin America and the Caribbean Business Seminar).
Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited the Historical Museum of Japanese Immigration in Brazil , and then conversed with Japanese-Brazilians. Following this, the Prime Minister attended a welcome ceremony hosted by an organization of Japanese-Brazilians.
In the evening, the Prime Minister attended “Sport for Tomorrow – the bonds of Japan-Brazil sports tied together by Japanese-Brazilian society ‘from Rio to Tokyo. ’” In the evening, the Prime Minister attended a Japanese cuisine seminar.
