On May 6 (local time), during his visit to the Kingdom of Belgium, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe first held talks with H.E. Mr. Anders Fogh Rasmussen, NATO Secretary General, and then signed the Individual Partnership and Cooperation Programme between Japan and NATO (IPCP) at the NATO headquarters. Subsequently, the Prime Minister attended and delivered an address at a meeting of the North Atlantic Council and exchanged views with the permanent representatives of 28 NATO member states, which was followed by a joint press conference. Afterwards, the Prime Minister had an audience with His Majesty King Philippe, King of the Belgians.
On the following day, May 7 (local time), the Prime Minister attended the 22nd Japan-EU Summit Meeting, and then held a joint press conference. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister held a press conference, and then held talks with H.E. Mr. Elio Di Rupo, Prime Minister of Belgium.
