On July 10 (local time), Prime Minster Shinzo Abe visited Port Moresby in the Independent State of Papua New Guinea. The Prime Minister first attended a welcome ceremony at Jacksons International Airport, before paying a courtesy call on H.E. Grand Chief Sir Michael Ogio, Governor-General of Papua New Guinea, and Mrs. Ogio, at Government House. Prime Minister Abe then held a summit meeting with the Hon. Peter O’Neill, Prime Minister of the Independent State of Papua New Guinea at the National Parliament, followed by a joint press announcement. In the evening, Prime Minister Abe attended a dinner banquet hosted by Prime Minister O’Neill.
