First Day of the Prime Minister’s Visit to Mexico

On July 25 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Mexico City, the capital of the United Mexican States.
First, the Prime Minister attended a ceremony to lay a wreath at the Monumento A Los Niños Héroes. Prime Minister Abe then attended a welcome ceremony at the National Palace.
Following this, Prime Minister Abe held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Enrique Peña Nieto, President of the United Mexican States. The Prime Minister then attended a ceremony to announce the signing of a memorandum and other documents, before holding a joint press announcement.
Afterwards, Prime Minister Abe attended a luncheon hosted by President and Mrs. Peña Nieto.
In the evening the Prime Minister attended the Japan-Mexico Businessmen's Joint Committee Meeting.
