Following these meetings, the Prime Minister extended words of encouragement to the personnel at Naha Air Base. Afterwards, aboard a Self-Defense Force helicopter, the Prime Minister made various aerial observations, including of Futenma Air Station and Henoko (Camp Schwab).
The Prime Minister then attended a lunch meeting with representatives of economic organizations in Okinawa Prefecture.
In the afternoon, he visited Futenma Air Station and received an explanation from Mr. Kenneth J. Glueck Jr., Okinawa Area Coordinator of the United States (U.S.) Forces in Okinawa.
The Prime Minister then observed the Okinawa IT Shinryo Park in Uruma City, Camp Kinser in Urasoe City, and the status of the use of vacant land returned by U.S. Forces in Naha City.
After completing the series of observations, the Prime Minister held a press conference.
