The Prime Minister in Action in October 2025

On October 31, 2025 (local time), Prime Minister Takaichi, who is visiting Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, to attend the APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders’ Meeting, attended the first session of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. Thereafter, she received a proposal from the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC). Subsequently, she held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, and then spoke to the press.

On October 30, 2025 (local time), Prime Minister Takaichi visited Gyeongju, Republic of Korea, to attend the APEC Economic Leaders’ Meeting. Following her arrival, Prime Minister Takaichi held a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Lee Jae Myung, President of the Republic of Korea, and subsequently spoke to the press.

Prime Minister Takaichi delivered the following remarks of encouragement to personnel of the Self-Defense Forces and United States Forces Japan aboard the U.S. aircraft carrier “George Washington.”

Afterward, Prime Minister Takaichi held a press conference regarding her participation in the ASEAN-related summit meetings and other matters.

On October 25, 2025 (local time), Prime Minister TAKAICHI Sanae visited Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to attend the ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) related Summit Meetings. Upon her arrival, Prime Minister Takaichi held a telephone conversation with the Honorable Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, and subsequently held a press conference. On the following day, October 26 (local time), Prime Minister Takaichi held a meeting with H.E. Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., President of the Republic of the Philippines. After the meeting, the Prime Minister visited the Japanese Cemetery in Kuala Lumpur to offer flowers. She then visited the Tugu Negara National Monument of Malaysia, where she laid a floral tribute.
