NATO Summit and Bilateral Summit Meetings

On June 29, 2022 (local time), Prime Minister Kishida, who is visiting Madrid in the Kingdom of Spain to attend the summit meeting of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), received a courtesy call from a delegation led by Senator Jeanne Shaheen, United States Senate, followed by a summit meeting with H.E. Ms. Magdalena Andersson, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden.
 
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Kishida held the NATO Asia-Pacific Partners (AP4) Leaders’ Meeting with the Hon. Anthony Albanese, MP, Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Australia, Rt. Hon. Jacinda Ardern, Prime Minister of New Zealand, and H.E. Mr. YOON Suk Yeol, President of the Republic of Korea, followed by a summit meeting with H.E. Mr. Pedro Sánchez Pérez-Castejón, President of the Government of Spain, and a meeting with H.E. Mr. Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary General of NATO, respectively. The Prime Minister then held the Japan-U.S.-ROK Summit Meeting with the Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr. President of the United States of America, and South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol. Afterwards, the Prime Minister attended a photo session for the leaders of the NATO members and the AP4 countries and then attended the NATO Summit Partner Session. Lastly, he spoke to the press regarding the NATO Summit and other matters.
