Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended RENGO's Central Committee held at a hotel in Tokyo.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

"What are we required to do in today's Japan, in the early 21st century?
It is not to thoroughly carry forward the competitive market-oriented principle based on the ideas of neoliberalism. Currently in Japan, people feel that their lives do not improve no matter how hard they work, and the word 'disparity' is felt to echo the reality. I think that there is a trend that this is becoming common in various parts of the world today, along with the advancement of globalization. The middle class is in crisis not only in Japan but throughout the world.
In this present-day circumstances, I would like to proudly uphold the social vision of reviving the large middle class, and ensure the establishment of a policy system to provide all people a place to belong to and a role to play. I believe that I must judge some important axes of policies."
