Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended the 13th meeting of the Council on Disaster Countermeasures Promotion held at the Prime Minister's Office.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said, "I would like to extend my sincere gratitude as the Chair of the Central Disaster Prevention Council to the members of the council, upon the finalization of the report of the Council on Disaster Countermeasures Promotion. Thank you very much.
I believe that it is the mission of our generation to securely pass on the lessons learned from the unprecedented disaster of the Great East Japan Earthquake.
The government will promote the improvement and reinforcement of disaster countermeasures even more strongly from multilateral perspectives.
I would like to ask each Cabinet member to exert decisive leadership so that the proposals included in this report are steadily implemented as governmental measures."
