Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda held the eighth meeting of the Employment Strategy Dialogue at the Prime Minister's Office.

Discussion took place on the Employment Strategy for Young People, and the strategy was established.

Based on the discussion, the Prime Minister said, "I asked for the establishment of the Employment Strategy for Young People with the hope that the 'pleasure of working' will be felt by as many young people as possible.
Most of the members are not only experts on the employment issue, but also, at the same time, relevant parties of the issue. We must now start the work of pouring aspiration into the "vessel," which is the strategy that was established.
I would like to make a request especially on three points. First is the 'promotion of career education in each region.' Second is the 'dissemination of information to young people,' and third is the 'linkage between the classroom and the actual labor administration.' I would like the members to especially take heed of these three points.
In addition, in the dialogue held in March, I asked for the carrying out of a general review of existing measures. Previously, the relevance between measures and the goal of measures had been unclear. There had also been harsh opinions such as that the measures represent more of a supportive measure, with measures highly evaluated at the actual site being finished in a short term. I believe that these candid opinions from the forefront of the actual site must be taken into consideration in the operation in the future.
I would like this strategy to be incorporated into the Strategy for Revitalizing Japan, and ask that fundamental measures be taken from mid- and long-term perspectives."
