Ceremony to Present the Prime Minister’s Commendations for Contributors to Consumer Support
Monday, May 28, 2012
Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended a ceremony to present the Prime Minister's commendations for contributors to consumer support, held at the Prime Minister's Office.
The Prime Minister said in his address, "All people are consumers. Living in a society, we all face various consumer issues.
Two years and nine months had passed since the inauguration of the Consumer Affairs Agency, which acts as a control tower in consumer administration. The government is accelerating its activity to formulate the basis for consumer administration from the standpoint of consumers. In order to realize a society wherein consumers serve the leading role, it is important for not only the government but also for consumer organizations and regional parties engaged in activities in the area of welfare, child-rearing, environment and industry to all strengthen cooperation and to expand the network of residents and regional community.
I would like to close my congratulatory address by expressing my sincere respect for your wonderful achievements so far, and with my wishes that this commendation will serve as an opportunity to further promote your activities."
