The voting to designate the Prime Minister took place at both the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors. Mr. Yoshihiko Noda, a member of the House of Representatives, was designated as the Prime Minister. Prime Minister Noda became the 95th Prime Minister (the 62nd person to assume the post) since Hirobumi Ito, the first Prime Minister of Japan.
