The Prime Minister Visits Wakayama, Mie, and Nara Prefectures

Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda visited areas affected by Typhoon Talas in Wakayama, Nara, and Mie Prefectures to gauge the extent of the damage and to exchange views with local municipalities and relevant parties.
Arriving at Nanki Shirahama Airport in Wakayama Prefecture by Self-Defense Force (SDF) aircraft, the Prime Minister made an aerial survey of the damage to the Tanabe City area by SDF helicopter. The Prime Minister then exchanged views with Governor of Wakayama Prefecture Yoshinobu Nisaka, Mayor of Nachi-Katsuura Town Shinichi Teramoto, Mayor of Shingu City Michitoshi Taoka, and others at the Nachi-Katsuura Town Office in Wakayama Prefecture.
This was followed by an exchange of views with Governor of Mie Prefecture Eikei Suzuki, Mayor of Kiho Town Ken Nishida, and others at the Kiho Town Office in Mie Prefecture, and a survey of the typhoon-hit area in Ozato, Kiho Town. Furthermore, the Prime Minister made an aerial survey of the damage to the Nachi river basin, Kumano river basin, Totsukawa Village in Nara Prefecture, Ryujin area in Tanabe City in Wakayama Prefecture, and Gojo City area in Nara Prefecture by SDF helicopter.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister exchanged views with Governor of Nara Prefecture Shogo Arai, Mayor of Gojo City Yoshinori Ota, and others at the Gojo City Office in Nara Prefecture.
