[Provisional Translation]

On November 29 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Paris in the French Republic to attend the 21st Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 21) .

The Prime Minister visited the Bataclan theatre and offered flowers. Following that, the Prime Minister said the following:

“I expressed my sincere condolences to all the victims of the terrorist attacks. I would also like to express our sincere solidarity with France.

Japan stands ever together with France during these trying times.

I saw many bouquets of flowers. Each one of them is an expression of sadness. At the same time, I thought that they are also expressions of fervent hope for peace and freedom. We must never allow this kind of tragedy, or any terrorism, to happen again.

I believe that the world must stand in solidarity in the fight over the shared values of humanity.”
