Decision by the Headquarters for Japan's Economic Revitalization
Distributed at the Press Conference by Chief Cabinet Secretary on January 8, 2012 (AM)
- Under the leadership of the Headquarters for Japan's Economic Revitalization, the Government will hold a meeting on Industrial Competitiveness Council (hereinafter called Council) in order to investigate and discuss strengthening our nation's industrial competitiveness and the realization and promotion of the Growth Strategy toward international enlargement.
- The Composition of the Council as follows: The Chair, however, has the discretion to require additional members and attendance of experts concerned when deemed necessary.
Chair Prime Minister Acting Chair Deputy Prime Minister Vice Chair Minister in charge of Economic Revitalization and Minister of State for Economic and Fiscal Policy, Chief Cabinet Secretary, and Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Members State Ministers designated by Prime Minister, Experts with superior insights into the strengthening of industrial competitiveness and the Strategy toward international enlargement, among those designated by Prime Minister.
- Regarding the administrative affairs of the Council, General Secretariat for Japan's Economic Revitalization will handle those, in cooperation with related administrative branches including Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry.
- In addition to what is provided for in the preceding paragraph, regarding the affairs relating to the operation of the Council and other affairs, the Chair has the discretion to decide.
