On October 9 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended the Japan-ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) Summit Meeting held in Bandar Seri Begawan in Brunei Darussalam.
In addition, Prime Minister Abe held talks with His Majesty Paduka Seri Baginda Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah Mu'izzaddin Waddaulah, Sultan and Yang Di-Pertuan of Brunei Darussalam; Mr. Tony Abbott, Prime Minister of Australia; Mr. John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand; and Mr. Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Republic of the Philippines, and he conversed with Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand.
In the evening, Prime Minister Abe attended a Gala Dinner.
