"Since its inauguration in December of last year, the Abe Cabinet has worked with a high sense of urgency and made every effort for the revitalization of the economy, acceleration of reconstruction, reshaping of diplomacy and security, revitalization of education, and other matters.
Although these issues Japan faces are all difficult, having been entrusted with responsibility from the public through the elections of the House of Representatives and the House of Councillors, the Government and ruling parties must further advance policies and further accelerate their implementation.
This is truly a critical moment."
The Prime Minister made the following additional comments at the meeting of the senior vice-ministers.
"I want to ask that each senior vice-minister fulfill an even more important role than ever before, building on the discussion now occurring regarding Diet reform and other matters.
As you collaborate with the parliamentary secretaries, I ask that you construct appropriate relationships of trust with your subordinates in the bureaucracy, create an environment in which each ministry can exercise the power it holds as much as it needs to, support the ministers, and manage national politics."
