Third Day of the Prime Minister's Visit to the United States (68th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations)

On September 26 (local time), in the morning, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is visiting the United States to attend the 68th Session of the General Assembly of the United Nations (UN), held talks with Dr. Hassan Rouhani, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, then attended the High-Level Meeting of the General Assembly on Nuclear Disarmament, and afterwards, held talks with Mr. Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
In the afternoon, Prime Minister Abe held talks with Mr. John W. Ashe, President of the UN General Assembly. Subsequently, the Prime Minister delivered an address at the General Debate and held the Japan-African Regional Economic Communities (RECs) Summit Roundtable. He later met with American women who have active roles in society, then met with Japanese women who play active roles mainly in New York, and lastly, met with Japanese UN staff.
