Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Tokyo Electric Power Company (TEPCO)'s Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station.

First, the Prime Minister extended words of encouragement to people undertaking tank patrol work at the seismic isolated building there. The Prime Minister said in his words of encouragement,

"I want to thank you all for your hard work. This is an extremely tough job, one in which you are working toward decommissioning. The future of Japan rests on your shoulders. The Government as well will come to the fore and thoroughly fulfil this mission together with all of you."

Later, at the site, the Prime Minister inspected the Multi-nuclide Removal Equipment (ALPS), the storage tank (the tank from which a leak was found), and the area near the seawall around Units 1 and 2. Lastly, the Prime Minister extended words of encouragement to the site personnel.
