On June 17, 2013 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is visiting Northern Ireland to attend the G8 Lough Erne Summit, held talks with Mr. David Cameron, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, and then held talks with Mr. Stephen Harper, Prime Minister of Canada.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister received a welcome from Prime Minister Cameron of the UK. Later, Prime Minister Abe held talks with Dr. Angela Merkel, Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany, Mr. Herman Van Rompuy, President of the European Council, Dr. Enrico Letta, President of the Council of Ministers of the Republic of Italy, and Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, respectively.
On the following day, June 18 (local time), the Prime Minister attended a session on "Counter Terrorism." This was followed by a photograph session of G8 and EU leaders.
In the late afternoon, in Belfast, the Prime Minister participated in an exchange meeting with members of Japanese companies in Northern Ireland and lastly held a press conference.
