Celebration of the Japan Pharmaceutical Wholesalers Association
Thursday, May 23, 2013
The Prime Minister attended a Celebration of the Japan Pharmaceutical Wholesalers Association held at a hotel in Tokyo.
The Prime Minister said in his address,
"The Abe administration has placed the creation of a society of longevity where people can live a long, healthy life, as one of the pillars of our growth strategy.
I believe that this will resolve a national issue. At the same time, I believe this is a field that can be developed around the world.
When we think about pharmaceuticals, the issue of stable supply is extremely important. I have felt this during the time of the Great East Japan Earthquake and during times of influenza outbreaks.
I am convinced that everyone here feels a sense of mission about the pharmaceutical industry and will work hard to maintain a thoroughly stable supply.
I hope that you will all continue to play a thorough and great role for the protection of the lives of the public as well moving forward.
As the Japanese economy continues to grow in the future, the further development of the pharmaceutical industry will lead to vibrancy in Japan and the health of the public. Above all, I believe affordable pricing and stable supply are important."
