The Prime Minister Visits Miyagi Prefecture

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Miyagi Prefecture to gauge the progress of the reconstruction from the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Arriving in Onagawa Town, the Prime Minister observed the rezoning project of the central area of Onagawa Town.
The Prime Minister then observed the accommodations and other facilities among the trailer house lodging.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister moved to Higashimatsushima City and offered words of encouragement to Self-Defense Force personnel at Matsushima Air Base of the Air Self-Defense Force. Afterwards, the Prime Minister took a test ride in the Blue Impulse aircraft and watched it in actual flight.
Later, the Prime Minister received an explanation regarding an overview of the group relocation promotion project for disaster mitigation and the land readjustment project in the Nobiru Hokubu Kyuryo area. Following this, the Prime Minister offered words of encouragement to the support staff in Higashimatsushima City.
Lastly, the Prime Minister observed the progress of the restoration of agricultural land in the Sendai Higashi area, and took a test ride in a rice planting vehicle and planted rice. Afterwards, the Prime Minister sampled processed agricultural products, among other products, and attended a meeting with young agricultural workers from the disaster area and others.
