The Prime Minister Visits the Republic of Turkey

On May 3 (local time), during his visit to the Republic of Turkey, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe attended a meeting of the Japan-Turkey Joint Economic Committee at a hotel in Ankara and delivered an address.
The Prime Minister then laid a wreath at Anitkabir (Atatürk Mausoleum) in Ankara and visited the Turkish Japanese Foundation Culture Center.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister attended a reception with accompanying representatives of Japanese business at the Japanese Ambassador's official residence in Turkey, and then attended an official welcome ceremony held at the Office of the Prime Minister.
Following this, the Prime Minister held talks with Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. Afterwards, Prime Minister Abe held a press conference at a hotel in Ankara.
The Prime Minister also attended a meeting between the leaders and business representatives of the two countries. Later, he attended a signing ceremony and held a joint press announcement.
