On April 29 (local time), Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, who is visiting the Russian Federation, offered flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldiers in Moscow. Following this, he paid his respects at Donskoy Japanese cemetery, where Japanese Detainees are entombed.

In the afternoon, Prime Minister Abe held talks with Mr. Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, President of the Russian Federation, at the Kremlin.

Later, following a signing ceremony, there was a joint press conference, and the announcement of the "Joint Statement of the Prime Minister of Japan and the President on the Russian Federation on the Development of Japanese-Russian Partnership."
