Prime Minister Shinzo Abe received a courtesy call from Mr. Angel Gurría, Secretary-General of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), at the Prime Minister's Office.

The Prime Minister said in his address,

"I sincerely welcome your visit to Japan. I would like to express my gratitude to you for attending the meeting of the Industrial Competitiveness Council yesterday and delivering a powerful speech. Next year is a commemorative year that marks the 50th anniversary of Japan's accession to the OECD, and Japan hopes to welcome 2014 as the Chair of the OECD Ministerial Council."
