The Prime Minister Visits Ioto Island and Chichijima Island

Prime Minister Shinzo Abe visited Ioto Island and Chichijima Island.
Upon arriving on Ioto, the Prime Minister offered words of encouragement to Self-Defense Force personnel.
The Prime Minister then attended a commemorative ceremony for the war dead on Ioto, which was held in front of the Cenotaph for the War Dead on Ioto in Tenzan.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited the Underground Headquarters of the Ogasawara Corps and then inspected a site where efforts are being made to recover the remains of the war dead.
Lastly, the Prime Minister observed a search radar at the base on Ioto.
In the afternoon, the Prime Minister moved to Chichijima in Ogasawara Village, where he first received an explanation regarding an overview of Ogasawara Village from its Mayor, Mr. Kazuo Morishita.
The Prime Minister then attended a hometown roundtable talk and exchanged views with local residents.
Afterwards, the Prime Minister visited and conversed with the people at a medical center and nursing home.
Lastly, the Prime Minister visited the Mount Mikazuki Observation Deck.
