Prime Minister Shinzo Abe met with Mr. Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr., President of the Republic of Palau, at the Prime Minister's Office.

In his address, the Prime Minister said,

The project to collect the remains of the war dead is being implemented smoothly under the cooperation of all relevant personnel. I would like to express my appreciation anew and ask for continuous cooperation.
Japan shares a deep historical relationship with your country. Palau is our important Pacific neighbor. We would like to further develop the bilateral relationship."
