Disputes often occur between corporations and labor unions
over working conditions or unfair labor practices such as
a sudden lay-off or nonpayment of wages. Central Labour
Relations Commission intervenes in such labor disputes to
regulate the situation and provide a relief for union members
suffering from unfair labor practices.
The Central Labour Relations Commission, which was established
under the Trade Union Law, provides arbitration and mediation
in labor disputes based on various labor-related laws, and
can conduct investigation and hearings through allegations
or official authority in the case of unfair labor practices.
However, certain qualifications are required for union members
to receive relief, and therefore, the Central Labour Relations
Commission is also in charge of assessing whether or not
a candidate possesses the necessary qualifications.
