Telephone Talks between Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda and Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin

- On Monday, March 5, Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda held telephone talks with Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation, for about five minutes from 5:15 p.m.
- During the telephone talks, Prime Minister Noda expressed his congratulations on Chairman Putin being certain to be elected President of Russia. Prime Minister Noda also stated that he is looking forward to cooperating with President Putin to enhance the dimension of Japan-Russia relations by giving the "Hajime" or "Start" command after Chairman Putin assumes the office of President, and that he would like to make efforts to solve the territorial issue wisely together with Chairman Putin.
- Chairman Putin expressed his gratitude for the congratulatory remarks of Prime Minister Noda, and stated that he is looking forward to seeing Prime Minister Noda in order to develop Japan-Russia relations in all fields.
