Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda attended a meeting of the Committee on Financial Affairs and the plenary session of the House of Representatives, and a meeting of the Budget Committee of the House of Councillors.
At the meeting of the House of Representatives Committee on Financial Affairs held in the morning, the Prime Minister answered closing questions from Committee members on the bill on special measures for FY2012 government bonds, followed by a vote in which the bill was approved.
At the plenary session of the House of Representatives held in the afternoon, explanation was provided on the resolution to protest against President of the Republic of Korea Lee Myung-bak's visit to Takeshima and recent comments in relation to His Majesty the Emperor, and resolutions related to the illegal landing on the Senkaku Islands by civil activists from Hong Kong, which were approved. Following this, the Prime Minister delivered an address on both resolutions.
Then, at the meeting of the Budget Committee of the House of Councillors, intensive discussion took place on foreign affairs and defense and other matters, and the Prime Minister answered questions from Committee members.
