Prime Minister Yoshihiko Noda held the fifth meeting of the Headquarters for Administrative Reform Implementation at the Diet building.

At the meeting, the policy for the disclosure and review of the expenditures of public interest corporations was discussed and decided.

The Prime Minister said in his opening address, "Administrative reform is the theme that we have been addressing earnestly, since we took over the government, through measures such as the review of government programs. Our recent achievements include the reduction of remunerations for national public servants by 7.8% on average. Also, regarding the reforms of independent administrative agencies and the reforms of the special account system, which I mentioned in my policy speech in January, we have been submitting important bills to the Diet. In addition, we have inaugurated this headquarters comprising all Cabinet members in order to carry forward the administrative reform strongly and comprehensively by the entire government working together, and promoting various efforts. These are some of the examples of the steady progress in the reform we have been achieving.
I would like to continuously promote various reforms for creating the form that the administration should take in order to be suitable for the eras to come, while securely presenting the achievements to the public."
