Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama received a courtesy call from the Kishu Plum Society at the Prime Minister's Office, ahead of Plum Day on June 6. The Kishu Plum Society conducts PR campaigns for plums, a local specialty of Wakayama Prefecture.

The Prime Minister was presented with a gift of green plums and pickled plums of the Kishu Nanko brand from the Miss Plum Girls: Ms. Sayaka Matsumoto and Ms. Toshiko Goto.
