Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, who is visiting Jeju Island, Republic of Korea (ROK), attended the Japan-China-ROK Trilateral Summit Meeting continuing from the previous day.

After the summit meeting, the leaders attended a signing ceremony for the Memorandum on the Establishment of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat among the Governments of Japan, the People's Republic of China, and the Republic of Korea, following which they held a joint press conference.

After the joint press conference, Prime Minister Hatoyama attended a time capsule-laying ceremony for Japanese, Chinese, and Korean youths, followed by a luncheon with participants of the Japan-China-ROK Business Summit. Later, the Prime Minister met with young Japanese, Chinese, and Korean researchers.
