Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama received a courtesy call from Ms. Naoko Yamazaki, an astronaut, at the Prime Minister's Office.

Astronaut Yamazaki, who was aboard the space shuttle Discovery launched from the Kennedy Space Center, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), this April as a mission specialist, worked on missions such as operating robotic arms of the International Space Station (ISS) and of the space shuttle.

Astronaut Yamazaki used a miniature model to explain the mechanisms of the ISS while the Prime Minister listened attentively.
