Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama invited outstanding performers of the 2010 Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games in Vancouver to the Prime Minister's Office, and held a ceremony to present them with commemorative gifts.

At the Olympic Games in Vancouver, Canada, held for 17 days from February 12 to 28, the Japanese National Team won a total of 5 medals. Also, at the Paralympic Games held for 10 days from March 12 to 21, the Japanese National Team won a total of 11 medals, including 3 gold medals.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Hatoyama presented a commemorative gift to each of the representatives of the Olympic and Paralympic athletes.
