Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held the first meeting of the Council for the Formulation of a Growth Strategy at the Prime Minister's Office.

The establishment of the Council for the Formulation of a Growth Strategy was decided upon during the Cabinet meeting on December 15 for the entire government, as one, to formulate a growth strategy. The Council will be chaired by the Prime Minister and will be comprised of all the Cabinet members.

During the meeting, the Council members discussed the formulation of a growth strategy.
