Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held the fourth meeting of the Government Revitalization Unit at the Prime Minister's Office.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prime Minister Hatoyama spoke of his impression on the scrutinizing of public projects. He said, "It was truly revolutionary that the people participated in the scrutinizing of their own national budget, which was conducted in a manner visible to the public. I reaffirmed my belief that politics that is opened to the people is essential for strengthening their trust in politics. I am thus convinced of the great significance of the scrutinizing of public projects, in other words, of the Government Revitalization Unit."
