Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held the first meeting of the Employment Strategy Dialogue at the Prime Minister's Office.

The purpose of the Employment Strategy Dialogue is to exchange views and form a consensus on important matters related to employment strategy, under the leadership of the Prime Minister and with a participation of leaders and experts from labor, industrial, and other circles in society. The Dialogue is organized as part of emergency employment measures that the Headquarters for Emergency Employment Measures decided on October 23, 2009.

At the meeting, it was agreed that assistance to employment retention would be vigorously strengthened, as well as assistance to new graduates, the poor, and those in need.
