Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama, together with Mr. Hirohisa Fujii, Minister of Finance, attended the plenary session of the Pittsburgh G-20 Summit on September 25 (local time). During the plenary session, leaders confirmed that each nation would maintain their respective economic countermeasures until recovery is ensured, for the sustainable growth of the global economy.

Following the plenary session, Prime Minister Hatoyama held separate talks with Mr. Manmohan Singh, Prime Minister of the Republic of India, and Mr. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, President of the Republic of Indonesia.

Prime Minister Hatoyama then held a press conference and spoke of the achievements of this visit to the US, stating, "I believe I was able to impress on my counterparts that Japan’s politics and diplomacy shall change."

Prime Minister Hatoyama also attended the first-pitch ceremony for a match between US major league teams -- the Pittsburgh Pirates and Los Angeles Dodgers -- in PNC Park in Pittsburgh. Prior to the ceremony, Prime Minister Hatoyama met with Mr. Hiroki Kuroda, a pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

After the ceremony, Prime Minister Hatoyama left for Japan from Pittsburgh International Airport.
