Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama met with Mr. Masumi Kuwata, a former US major leaguer, at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, Mr. Kuwata presented Prime Minister Hatoyama with a uniform of the Pittsburgh Pirates, a team that Mr. Kuwata used to be a member of, and Prime Minister Hatoyama gave Mr. Kuwata a calligraphy board inscribed "Fraternity/Straight Ball" as a gift.

Later, Prime Minister Hatoyama, wearing the uniform, played catch for about 25 throws with Mr. Kuwata at the yard of the Prime Minister's Office and listened attentively to Mr. Kuwata's advice.
