Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held a meeting of the Ministerial Committee on the Global Warming Issue at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, the new administration's efforts to tackle the global warming issue were confirmed. It was also agreed that Prime Minister Hatoyama would send a strong message at the United Nations Summit on Climate Change to be convened at the Headquarters of the United Nations from September 22.
