Prime Minister Yukio Hatoyama held a meeting of the Ministerial Committee on the Supplementary Budget at the Prime Minister's Office.

During the meeting, discussions took place on a review of the execution of the supplementary budget of fiscal 2009. Prime Minister Hatoyama instructed the ministers to work with senior vice-ministers and parliamentary secretaries to gain a thorough understanding of the state of each ministry's budget execution, requesting that the necessity of the execution of every project related to the supplementary budget be examined and that the results of the examination be reported by October 2.
