On December 10, 2020, the Prime Minister visited Miyagi Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture.

In Higashi Matsushima City, Miyagi Prefecture, the Prime Minister visited a reconstruction and recovery multipurpose facility, and thereafter offered flowers and a silent prayer at Ishinomaki Minamihama Tsunami Recovery Memorial Park in Ishinomaki City, and then received an explanation on the state of reconstruction and an overview of the park.

In the afternoon, the Prime Minister offered flowers and a silent prayer at Takata Matsubara Tsunami Reconstruction Memorial Park in Rikuzentakata City, Iwate Prefecture, and then received an explanation on the state of reconstruction and other matters. Lastly, the Prime Minister visited Taro District in Miyako City, and conducted such activities as viewing videos of the tsunami. After the visit, the Prime Minister spoke to the press regarding the visit to Miyagi Prefecture and Iwate Prefecture and other matters.
