On November 22, 2019, Prime Minister Shinzo Abe held a press conference at the Prime Minister’s Office.
With regard to the Japan-Republic of Korea (ROK) General Security of Military Information Agreement (GSOMIA), the Prime Minister said,
“In responding to North Korea, collaboration and cooperation between Japan and the ROK, and among Japan, the U.S. and the ROK are extremely important. I have also stated this repeatedly.
I believe that the ROK made its recent decision from such a strategic perspective.”
